PIctures, Pictures, Pictures!

Sorry so delayed but for all who've been asking here are some recent pictures of the Hansen crew. We have been unbelievably busy. Besides the holidays we have also had 2 baby showers for my sister Susie (one we gave her here and one we attended in VA), birthday parties, and the boys have been sick, TWICE, in a month. Yuck! All I can say is an infant who is sick is just pitiful. Cole has basically caught a cold from Parker both times which turned into bronchiolitis. The first time it began to turn into pneumonia and he also had a double ear infection on top of that. He is currently sick now but it is beginning just like the last time. Lets hope we don't go down the same path. Well I decided to just do a bunch of pictures because, well I'm sure everyone would rather see the boys than hear me ramble. So enjoy!!!
Parker wearing Granddad Hansen's hat!
Hey, what are you looking at?
The boys snuggling on orange (aka Parker's bean bag).
Parker LOVES to hold his baby brother and as you can see Cole has no complaints.
The silliest!!
Parker at various times will walk around the house like this with his blankie on his head.
It is really a sight to see.
Cole Baby what are you doing?
Oh yes he is more than likely going to be a thumb sucker. He will take a pacy but if one isn't available he goes for the thumb. Funny thing is that during my 20 week ultrasound we saw him trying to get his thumb in his mouth.
The boys hiding out in a dinsosaur tent!
Parker loves tools so he and my dad often find fun and unique ways to practice using them. Here he is actually showing Aunt Susie how to screw a screw into a cardboard box.
Parker and Poppy love taking trips into the woods. Weather permitting this is a weekly activity for them. So for Poppy's birthday Parker and he got special hats for the wods. Don't they look great!

Aunt Susie and Uncle Scott aka parents to be in January. They say hey this parenting thing, we think we are ready!!!

Cole, myself and my parents traveled to VA to Susie's 2 weeks ago and we all got to see our first snow of the year. It snowed for the second half of our drive there and that night. It was gorgeous.
One of the absolute funniest pictures we have of Cole.
Man can he work the pouty lip. Good thing he doesn't use it often.

Happy Halloween!

We had a wonderful Halloween and the week surely couldn't have been any busier. I put alot of pics. in this post so you all could get a little taste of what fun we had this Halloween.

First we went to the aquarium at Pine Knoll shores to trick or treat on Thursday. That was a lot of fun. The whole aquarium was decorated for Halloween and they had booths throughout for kids to trick or treat at. They even had an underwater pumpkin carving contest in the shark tank. That was pretty interesting. Nana and Grandad went with Parker, Cole and I (Wally was out of town) which was alot of fun to have them with us.

Check out the fush. They have Halloween masks on.

Yikes! We are in a Sharks mouth!!!

Daddy was out of town for work until Friday (10/30) so that is when we carved our pumpkins. Parker loved using the scoop to scrape out all the insides.

Saturday morning (Halloween) all the kids were to wear their costumes to gymnastics. That was really cute and they all took a class picture (his first class picture :) ).

We got a kick out of our dinosaur on all the equip. He wore it the whole time.

Check out that TAIL!

Wee!!!

Well after gymnastics it was time to decorate and cook because we were having our annual Halloween bash with our neigbors. It involves lots of decorations and pretty much all of our friends and their kids coming over to pass out candy, go trick or treating and celebrate. Oh and the boys trying to scare trick or treaters of course.

Parker helping me make dirt cake for the party. He recruited "Pat" to help with crushing the cookies. That boy loves his tools!!!
Time for the worms and the ghosts!

Cole in his Halloween outfit. He wasn't quite big enough for any costumes so we went with a cute Halloween outfit. Thank you to the Priechenfrieds for sending this to him.
We thought he was adorable!

Here we are!!!

After a lot of trick or treating, which Parker really enjoyed, and lots of playing with friends Parker decided to grab Poppy and convince him it was time to call it a night. He enjoyed some TV to wind down and some snuggle time and then offically called it a night.

Though it was a busy week, we had a great time and we look forward to next year!

The Pumpkin Patch!

We all took a trip to pick out our pumpkins last week. Parker had a great time running up and down the isles looking at the pumpkins and pulling the wagon. Cole, well he slept. We found the perfect three and now all we have to do is get to carving. We have to wait til Friday night to do that though because Wally is back in Chapel Hill til Friday evening taking a class for work. Let's hope we have no need for him to rush back this time like he had to do last month thanks to the early arrival of Cole.

Jackson's come to visit!

Our dear friends the Jackson's came to visit Cole a little over a week ago. We had a great time catching up with them and the kids had a blast playing. Everyone took a turn holding Cole but I have to say Jenna was probably the most excited. She kept asking to hold him and making sure we knew he was a baby. It was very sweet and she was naturally nurturing. Amazing to see in such a little one (she'll be 2 in December).

The whole Jackson clan!

Jake taking his turn at Parker's newest game. Oh yes, jumping off his bed onto "big orange" aka. the orange bean bag. Can you say dangerous, but oh so fun.

I Love My Brother!

Back to work!

Well we were blessed with Wally being able to take 1 month off after Cole was born. It definitely helped us relax after our hospital adventure as well as help everyone get adjusted to life with a second child. We had time to relax, go to appoinments and of course have some fun. He went back 1 1/2 weeks ago so now we are all back to the grind! Doing well though. Parker has truely adjusted well and Cole is as cool and chill as they come.
I have a feeling he gets that from Wally :).

Cole was so sweet while Wally was out. He helped him on the computer so he could stay home longer.
I told you he was a good baby.

We all took a trip to the aquarium. Parker loves to go here so we decided to go before Wally went back. Cole, well he just slept.

What cute little crabs these two are!!

Aunt Susie also came to visit us. This was exceptionally fun because she is pregnant and due at the end of January. She was definietly a natural with Cole and well Parker thinks she's pretty fabulous. We are so glad she was able to come down which was actually a surprise. I was home with the boys while Wally was at an ECU football game (Go Pirates!!!) and I had a knock at the door (7pm I might add) and I thought who could that be. It was one of the best surprises. We enjoyed her all weekend and can't wait to see her again.

My Boys!

Parker has really taken to his new brother. He is intrigued by him and all the noises he makes and things we do with him. He naturally is wanting to help and is quite sweet on him. He will give him hugs, kisses and let us know that "he is hungry" when he makes the slightest peep, all without prompting. I couldn't have asked for a better transition for bringing a new baby into our house. He is such a good boy and Cole (or as Parker likes to call him, Cole Baby) is definitely lucky to have him as an older brother.

What great boys I have!!!

Here's a video of Parker singing to Cole. This melts my heart everytime I watch it!

Surprise it's a BOY!

Cole Timothy
Born 9-16-09 at 3:03 pm
6lbs 15oz and 20 1/2 inches long
We are so glad to finally be able to introduce our newest addition Cole Timothy. He arrived last Wednesday and lets just say we have been VERY busy since then. Blessed with a VERY fast labor and delivery posed a slight challenge for Cole initially. He had what they call delayed transition but they weren't convinced that was all it was initially. He initially was a little sluggish, not needing any assistance but just periods of rapid breathing and decreased muscle tone. Since it wasn't explained by infection the Dr.s decided Wednesday night (6 hours post delivery) that they would send him to Chapel Hill (on Thursday) to rule out any possible other problems. Luckily my ob discharged me (less than 24 hours post delivery - Yikes!) so that I could go with him. Therefore on Thursday afternoon we all headed up to Chapel Hill. Wally's parents were able to go with us so we could bring Parker. We are so thankful they were able to come and help out. To make a long several days and occuarrances brief he spent a night in the PICU and 2 on the pediatric floor at Chapel Hill. Luckily once we got to Chapel Hill they felt like they were looking at a different boy than our hospital was. All tests came back normal and they attributed everything to delayed transition from birth. I have never felt so much relief as when the geneticist told me that her conclusion was that my baby was normal and that we just go home and love him. Well we came home from Chapel Hill on Sunday night with high billirubin levels (jaundice) which is no surprise as we have a strong family history of this including Parker. We got his levels checked Monday morning and they were high enough that he needed to be admitted Monday night to Onslow Memorial for phototherapy. Make sure to check him out in his "personal tanning bed" just chilling in the photo slide show below. We were discharged Tuesday night and thank goodness we have been home ever since. Parker has been great and is enjoying learning all about Cole and why he does what he does and how he can help. Cole even gave Parker a leaf blower when he got out of the hospital. He loves it. Picture of him with it is also in the slide show.
We do want to thank everyone who helped us make this as easy as possible for us to be with Cole in Chapel Hill. Our parents for watching Parker and being with us for support. Our FANTASTIC neighbors, Ryan and Beth , who not only looked after our dogs and our house but also cleaned our house for a great surprise when we got home and have made us several delicious meals. We also appreciate all the texts and calls of care and concern as well as the prayers.
Our baby is truly an example of the miracle of prayer!

What a sweet little peanut!

Cieszko's come to visit!

This weekend Chris, Alison and their son Davis came to visit us. We have been trying to get the boys together so they can play for a while and it finally worked out this weekend. We had a great time! Of course Parker and Davis enjoyed playing with the toys while we all enjoyed catching up. Alison and I have once again timed being pregnant at the same time so it was fun sharing prego stories too. They sure have a sweet son. He is absolutely adorable and fun to play with. We hope they will come again soon!!! Parker has been talking about his buddy Davis since he left.
